We’re going to start with one of the best known historical venues in the UK – Hever Castle.
About Hever Castle
The romantic double moated castle situated in Kent, has a rich and varied history spanning over 700 years. Hever castle is most famous for being the childhood home of Anne Boleyn, King Henry VIII’s second wife, who became Queen of England for just 1,000 days. It was Henry’s love for Anne and her insistence that she became his wife rather than his mistress that led to the King renouncing Catholicism and creating the Church of England. So quite a history!
Today its splendid panelled rooms containing beautifully crafted antique furniture, fine tapestries and a unique collection of portraits play host to exquisite weddings, sumptuous private dining as well as meetings, conferences and training days.
Shooting the Venue View of Hever Castle was a very exciting project for our team. A historical building such as this needs sympathetic shooting whilst also keeping in mind that it is a fully working venue that’s open to the public, so disruption must be kept to a minimum. Luckily Hever has an excellent team, led by Kate Rowbottom, who worked tirelessly to enable the shooting to go ahead seamlessly.

The Dining Hall
This atmospheric room was originally the Great Hall in the fifteenth century. It’s walls are encased with the most beautiful panelling and the commanding fireplace is surmounted by the Boleyn coat of arms.

The Castle Courtyard
The Castle Courtyard and draw bridge provide a suitably grand and impressive entrance to the castle. One of the most photographed features in the castle is the working portcullis, which is said be one of the oldest in the country.

The Drawing Room
The Drawing Room with its warm and inviting presence was once the domestic offices in the Tudor period. It’s another beautifully panelled room that invokes a real feeling of the period.
